Local Salisbury based charity CTSW (Community Transport South Wiltshire) operate the popular Amesbury HOPPA community bus that serves the local community enabling people to access schools, town shops, businesses and facilities within Solstice Park.
Fulfilling a timetabled Monday to Saturday bus service, the Amesbury HOPPA carries an average of 692 passengers per week, equating to close to 36k passengers per year.
On Thursday 22nd August at the Holiday Inn Hotel on Solstice Park local MP John Glen and Amesbury Mayor Fred Westmoreland will attend and officially launch a new HOPPA 16 x seater minibus which is to replace one of the older HOPPA’s. The charity will also be provide a small presentation of its plans for future sustainability of the service.
For people in surrounding villages who find it difficult to access other forms of transport, owing to cost, disability or a lack of other transport services, CTSW also bring people into Amesbury Town via the charity’s Shopper Bus membership scheme, for more details call 01722 414566.
Additionally, the charity have become new members of ‘SCOT’ (Stonehenge Chamber of Trade) supporting the ‘Shop Local’ scheme initiative. Passengers will be able to pick up cards on the HOPPA service, have them stamped and when completed, hand to the HOPPA driver or any other participating business to be entered into the monthly cash prize draw.
